Best Friends 2022 90% Save Rate

2023 Annual Critter Lift
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (October 11, 2023) — The 5th Annual Critter Lift and Rummage Store Extravaganza is happening at the SPCA Rummage Store on Saturday, October 14th. The Rummage Store will be hosting a fun shopping event and donation drive to benefit the animals at the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. Fall 2023 Empty The Shelters
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (September 29, 2023) — With animal shelters across the nation facing an overcrowding crisis, thousands of highly adoptable pets are waiting for their second chances. The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is proud to partner with BISSELL Pet Foundation, a national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending pet homelessness, for its Fall National “Empty the Shelters.” From Oct. 1 – 15, BISSELL Pet Foundation will sponsor reduced adoption fees of $50 or less at more than 345 shelters in 42 states.
Petco Love Stories
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (September 15, 2023) – National nonprofit Petco Love, in partnership with BOBS from Skechers™ and the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA are excited to put out the call for pet adopters in our local communities to share their love stories about how their adopted pet changed their life. The Petco Love Stories campaign celebrates the unbreakable bond between pet parents and their adopted pets while also raising awareness about the importance of pet adoption.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (September 4, 2023) — As our summer hours come to an end, the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA has reviewed our visitor and customer service data from the past three months to determine what shelter service hours best meet our City and Albemarle County resident needs. The data shows that more individuals come during the week in the late afternoon/early evening on their way home from work.
