Compassionate Care Clinics

Wellness Clinic

Compassionate Care Clinics are held on the second, third and fourth Sunday of every month. Clinics are by appointment only. Priority is given to residents of Charlottesville or Albemarle County.

If you are planning on attending a Compassionate Care Clinic, please call the clinic extension (206) or email [email protected] to make an appointment. All cats must be in carriers and all dogs must be on leashes.

Procedure for Clients

Drive to the right side of the shelter.

Check-in Process –
Please remain in your vehicle. A clinic assistant will come to your car to assign you a number and collect information. You will be contacted when it is your turn to check-in. After checking in, you will wait in your vehicle and your pet(s) will be brought into the clinic by a clinic assistant.

Evaluation and Treatment –
Physical examinations, diagnostics, and treatment will take place in the clinic while you wait outside. You will be contacted via cellphone (preferred method) or masked conversation outside to discuss findings, answer questions, and receive the estimate.

Check-out –
Check and credit card are preferred payment methods. After you have paid, you will be given medical records and medications (prepared and put in a plastic bag by the evaluation and treatment team).
