We collect contact information you voluntarily provide through our website, mailings, contributions, and event/class registrations. This information is used to respond to your request or inquiry and to contact you about programs, promotions, and services of CASPCA—by providing your email address you agree to receive periodic emails and promotion from CASPCA, if you wish to opt-out you can click unsubscribe on any of the emails you receive or send your request to comms@caspca.org.

We also keep a record of each donor’s giving history for IRS purposes, our records, and to track and analyze giving trends. CASPCA does not engage in telemarketing and will not call your home except for gift acknowledgment purposes or to ask a specific question regarding your volunteer work, event attendance, class registration, or other involvement with our organization.

Personal Information: This includes details such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and interests. We do not request or store sensitive information such as credit card or social security numbers on our servers.

IP Address: We collect IP addresses from visitors to diagnose server issues, analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information. CASPCA provides a secure experience when making donations and purchases through our website by using only Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliant vendors. When personal information is transmitted, it is protected through the use of the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol, which encrypts and authenticates data shared over the internet. All in-person credit card transactions at the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, Rummage Store, and our fundraising and adoption events are protected using the PCI data security standard. CASPCA completes an annual PCI-DSS compliance attestation. While we strive to protect your information, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Information Sharing

CASPCA does not sell, trade, or release your contact information to parties outside of our organization without your permission. We may occasionally send information regarding other organizations we think may interest you or send invitations from another organization doing a benefit for CASPCA through a third-party mail house.
