The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA respects your privacy and the privacy of all of our friends and donors. The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA collects the contact information you voluntarily provide through our website, mailings, contributions, and event/class registrations. This information is used to respond to your request or inquiry and to contact you about programs, promotions and services of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. We also keep a record of each donor’s giving history, which is kept on file for IRS purposes, our records and to track and analyze giving trends. We do not engage in telemarketing, and will not call your home except for gift acknowledgement purposes or to ask a specific question regarding your volunteer, event attendance, class registration or other involvement with our organization.

The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA provides visitors a secure experience when making donations and purchases from our caspca.org website by using only Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliant vendors. When personal information is transmitted, it is protected through the use of the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol which encrypts and authenticates data shared over the Internet. All in-person credit card transactions at the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, Rummage Store, and our many fundraising and adoption events are protected using the PCI data security standard. The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA completes an annual PCI-DSS compliance attestation.
