Fido Field Trips

Field trips are a great way to find new foster caregivers, engage with the community, reduce kennel stress and get better information on a dog’s behavior. Field trips are helpful in marketing dogs for adoption, as potential adopters want to know what a dog looks and acts like outside of their kennel and the opportunity for creative photography, videography and stories is increased.

At the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, the Fido Field Trips program is open to anyone at least 18 years of age or with a parent/guardian present.

In order to be eligible for FFT, volunteers must complete the following:

  • Complete introduction video specific for Fido Field Trips that includes the history and mission of the SPCA as well as the benefits of dog outings
  • Complete on-site FFT Dog Safety Orientation during your first pickup
  • Have signed and completed volunteer liability waiver and complete FFT agreement at the time of pickup
