This Thursday, May 10th, Keller Williams Realty associates are joining forces to improve communities around the nation for the annual KW Cares RED (Renew, Energize and Donate) Day. In Charlottesville, project leader and animal lover Maureen Hegarty organized a project benefiting animals at the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. Hegarty and her teammates plan to renovate an aging dog play area at the SPCA and will be collecting donations at the local PetSmart on May 10th.

Hegarty says, “Our agents are committed to serving our community and are passionately getting involved and doing good. For us, RED Day isn’t just about this one day renovation project, we are committed to helping animals in our community all year long.”

RED Day (Renew, Energize and Donate) is an initiative dedicated to celebrating Keller Williams Realty’s year-round commitment to improving our local communities. Each year, on the second Thursday in May, tens of thousands of associates from across the United States and Canada participate in a wide range of projects, devoting their time to renewing and energizing aspects of the neighborhoods in which they serve.

The mission of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the lost, abandoned, and homeless animals of the City of Charlottesville and the County of Albemarle and to increase the number of these animals being placed in appropriate, loving, and permanent homes through adoptions, foster care, and outreach and to set a standard of excellence and leadership in shelter animal care, humane education, and progressive animal welfare programs.
