Feral Cats Spay/Neuter
Since 2005, the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA
and Voices for
Animals have been partnering to provide high-volume Trap-Neuter-Release
(TNR) clinics for the feral (not tame) cats in our community. TNR
clinics are essential to prevent feral cat colonies from continuing
to multiply. At these clinics, feral cats are spayed/neutered and
vaccinated for free, then returned to the caretaker for release
in their current habitat (the area where the cat was trapped). Clinics
are equipped to handle 100 cats, but spaces fill quickly so please
make your reservations early.
The majority of the Voices/SPCA feral cat clinics
will take place early in the year before the summer “Kitten
Season”, to reduce the number of cats needlessly giving birth
to unwanted and homeless kittens.
The next scheduled clinic dates are
as follows:
• October 31st
• November 21st
• December 12th
• January 9th
• January 30th
• February 13th
• February 27th
To schedule your feral cat for a spay/neuter
clinic, please contact Voices
