During the month of December, we’re sharing 12 stories about animals saved by the CASPCA this year. These stories exemplify our commitment to maintaining the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA as a No Kill community, and they have a happy ending because of the tireless efforts of our staff and the generosity of supporters like you.
Legend was only seven weeks old when he arrived at the CASPCA and required immediate veterinary care. He had been attacked by another animal. He suffered bite wounds and a head injury. Legend was treated and stayed in the Cat Critical Care section of the CASPCA clinic for monitoring. He was tiny, but had a strong fighting spirit. He quickly regained his appetite, and was soon alert and seeking attention. He was playful and quickly became a staff favorite. About a month after his arrival at the CASPCA, Legend was healed and ready to find a home.
Legend’s home was already waiting for him. His finder decided to adopt him! His new family reports that his is their “super sweet wild man.” Legend loves to play, hunt and chase things. In every way, he is a typical kitten! His favorite “toys” are his mom’s arm and a toy mouse that he had with him in the CASPCA clinic. Legend’s favorite place to sleep is on top of family member’s heads, and his favorite thing to do at 3 am is jump all over the bed. Standard kitten stuff.
Legend has made a full recovery, and his family says, “We are so incredibly grateful to everyone at the CASPCA for saving Legend’s life and giving him such incredible care. He was the piece our crazy family was missing, and we could not love him more.”
This holiday season, please think of the thousands of animals we have saved
and the thousands more we have yet to save.
