Ninth Save of Christmas: Bea (formerly Vee)

My name is Bea (formerly Vee) and I came all the way from BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas right after Hurricane Harvey made landfall. A CASPCA staff of four drove me and 69 of my friends back to the CASPCA in their beautiful Compassionate Care-A-Van to help make space for displaced animals caused by the awful hurricane.

I was so itchy and tired and did not look my best when I arrived at the CASPCA. The staff diagnosed me with scabies, internal parasites, and an eye infection and immediately began to treat me. Scabies is a pesky but fully treatable mite that burrows into skin and causes severe itching, which results in scabs and hair loss.  After undergoing intensive medical care for a month, I was finally scabies-free and ready to find my forever home.

My new dad knew the instant he saw me that I was going home with him that day. I am doing great in in my new home with my loving family and adore my older cat sister!

This holiday season, please think of the thousands of animals we have saved and the thousands more we have yet to save.
